Meet Coach Filardi from Half Hollow Hills West High School and Coach Marcelin from Half Hollow
Hills East High School.
Filardi and Marcelin are perennial contenders in the post-season, but more importantly they:
👉 Both have
longstanding and impeccable character traits in every organization that they have been a part of.
👉 Have both played college and/or pro/football, and bring that experience to their teams.
👉 Are in this sport to raise the level of Long Island football and help every kid from every town, not just the ones under their tutelage. They are unconditional volunteers willing to help anyone who asks regardless of their race, location, school, or economic status.
👉 Have an extensive recruiting network of college coaches and recruiters who respect them tremendously and frequently visit their schools.
👉 Devote a significant amount of time to philanthropic activities in their communities, a quality that transcends the
field.
👉 Spend their time educating their players on what they need to do to get recruited. Their efforts don't end when practice is over on the field. They both spend countless hours in group and one-on-one with their players and families explaining what they need to do to get recruited. They teach them valuable skills to have the best chance of getting recruited. Who to
call, what camps to go to, what camps and recruiting services not to waste their time on, how to set up their social media, what their bio's should say and not say, what to post and not post, what platforms to be on, how to handle interviews, how to show up for college visits, and more (#TheBlueprintLIE495)
👉 Instead of forbidding their players to train with outside trainers, they encourage it. This isn't 1980 where the most athletic kid played quarterback. The top kids in football today are working with
specialized trainers from a young age. Guys like James Brady (QB's) or Golden Ukonu (Defensive Line), Tim Asbel (Offensive Line), Mike Vannucci (Receivers), Justin Kull (Strength and Conditioning). These are just a few examples of top private trainers on Long Island that have helped kids get to the highest level. Good position trainers and strength and conditioning trainers are essential to reaching the highest level of the game. If a High School Coach tells you
not to train with private trainers, their motives are selfish and not to your benefit.
👉 Both Coaches had a number of their players this year committed to and offered by Division 3, Division 2, AND DIVISION I FBS FOOTBALL! Some of the players offered by Division 1 FBS schools are freshmen that came
from the Long Island Elite National Team Program! Check out our social media for highlights.
