BECOME A SPONSOR OF THE ELITE NATIONAL TEAM PROGRAM
Why we do what we do
Imagine you are a child who lives on Long Island. You love to play football. You want to improve and move on to bigger things, but there are no opportunities to fulfill your needs other than a local team run by volunteer dads. Your friends who play lacrosse and soccer get to compete on town teams, travel teams with professional coaches, and tournament teams. They are fortunate, because for those sports there are clinics, camps, post-season teams, off-season
teams, Olympic development teams, and so much more; but nothing for football.
You have cousins that live down south or even in Massachusetts, or friends who live in New Jersey who tell you about all of the great football programs they participate in, but in Long Island there is not much
offered. Your parents do what they can to take you out-of-state to participate in clinics and other events, but the reality is that you want more, and why shouldn't you!
ย
Long Island Elite Football (LIE) was started to fill the football "platform gap" here on Long Island. Started in 2012 by Gerald Filardi and Benjamin Carey, Long Island Elite Football already has thousands of followers from Montauk to NYC. These are people in the community looking to bring more opportunities to children who love the game of football.
ย
Who we are
ย
Long Island Elite Football is a private for-profit business dedicated to working with youth of all socio-economic backgrounds across Long Island. Long Island Elite Football focuses on training, support, and guidance; for kids in Long Island who demonstrate an interest in football; therefore providing the resources needed to develop
skills including but not limited to physical, social and emotional growth for both individual and team success. The program aims to teach its members responsibility, self-discipline, hard work and sportsmanship as they proceed on their journey from adolescence to young adulthood. Long Island Elite Football has a policy of "no one is turned away for financial hardship". Fundraising and sponsorship allows us to offer a hardship-based scholarship program and provide financial support and stipends
for disadvantaged youth who would like to participate in the program.
ย
INCREASE SKILL DEVELOPMENT, GAIN EXPOSURE, COMPETE IN REGIONAL/NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIPS, AND SHOWCASE YOUR TALENT.
LIE is a year-round program for players looking to refine their skills. They work with the top coaches in the region and have an opportunity to be trained by performance specialists that will settle for nothing less than excellence. These are professionals from the youth through college level with
winning backgrounds, and proven records of developing players. Throughout the year there are camps, clinics, combines, and a multitude of opportunities offered to refine skills. There are spring games, 7v7s, and every year the best players on Long Island are selected to represent Long Island on national championship teams. The season culminates with one of Long Island's biggest football events: The Liberty Challenge, where the LI Elite National Teams play the NYC Elite National Teams in a
showcase game for bragging rights. The event is held on Flag day every year, and includes participation from fire, police, and all branches of the military. Every year the event draws thousands of spectators, press, and local dignitaries.
